Laparoscopic Power Head Design and Application

With the development of the application of power surgical systems in recent years, the demand for blade structures has increased in more scenarios. Various laparoscopic and power system structural solutions and applications are also gradually progressing towards diversified demand scenarios. This is particularly evident in the application of laparoscopic power systems such as otolaryngoscopes, hysteroscopes and arthroscopes. So what aspects should we pay more attention to when designing power blades?
Purpose and Importance of the Laparoscopic Power Tool: To achieve targeted tissue resection, the hardness and softness of the tissue to be removed in the working area, the degree of mucosa, the target angle, the target position, the amount of resection, etc. are all related to the design of the tool structure and shape, length and angle, and edge size of the tool body. These are all related to the design of the tool structure and the shape, length, angle and edge size of the tool body. To further explain the design selection of the power tool, SINOWARES has made the following structural recommendations.
Blade selection: 1. Choice of thin blade: Cutting inner and outer edges is generally a shearing force structure. The thinner the blade, the lower the cutting resistance and the smoother the tissue cut. However, a blade that is too thin is not suitable for cutting solid or mucosal tissue, and it cannot be too hard as the tip of the blade can easily break. A thin blade is suitable for cutting soft tissue. 2. Choice of flat blade: A thick blade is called a flat blade. When cutting at high speed, the tissue is cut smoothly with a very small gap due to the force effect. The advantage is that it is suitable for cutting solid tissues and mucous tissues, and the cost of this process is relatively low. The choice of tooth structure and shape, as well as the choice of reamer blade heads and sand-plated grinding heads, must be based on actual requirements. Designers must make choices based on mechanics and application scenarios, and do not necessarily have to position the tooth shape according to the traditional tooth shape in the market.
Material selection: High carbon steel is generally recommended for material selection. After aging treatment, under the condition of meeting the hardness requirement, we need to pay more attention to corrosion resistance, strong blade and small deformation of the blade body after heat treatment. It takes a long time for power tools to go from the manufacturer to hospital storage and then to patient use, so it is necessary to consider anti-corrosion protection before use and even after 1-3 uses.
Flexible curved blade: The blade uses the flexible structure of the inner blade to achieve long-distance working and short-distance working blades. In order to meet the requirements of working at different angles, it is recommended to use hollow elastomers, triple-layered elastomers, single-layered snake-bone elastomers, locally soft flexible bodies and locally flexible bodies of inner hard outer blades in the locally flexible area of the inner blade to achieve the best cutting condition.
We always welcome further technical discussions and exchanges on minimally invasive device structure solutions.
