When performing biopsy analysis of human tissue, the integrity and consistency of the biopsy tissue is critical. Many designers are gradually entering a period of rapid growth in the development of biopsy needles. So what issues do we need to consider when designing biopsy needles?
Cutting Force and Edge Strength of the Outer Needle Tube Blade: The edge strength and angle of the outer tube are the most important factors in ensuring continuous cutting force. Of course, there are higher requirements for the balance of the cutting axial force. In general, the internal straightness is 0.04mm per 30mm length. The larger the value, the greater the effect on the axial cutting of the product. Of course, the damage to the cutting edge is also relatively increased. The smoothness of the blade should also be considered. Its smoothness has a certain frictional damage to the surgical incision wound, which may cause bleeding from the wound.
Internal Needle Structure Design: The design of the groove tissue support surface must consider two points. 1. The roughness of the tissue supporting surface. Some designers pay attention to the roughness of this area, thinking that the rougher it is, the less likely the tissue will slip. In fact, there is no need to worry too much about this. Tissue slippage can also be related to the roughness of the inner wall of the lens. If the tissue support is too rough, it may cause compressive interference to the tissue during tissue delivery, resulting in secondary damage to the tissue. 2. The linearity and returnability of the needle body. If the inner needle immediately exerts force in the cavity, it will generate strong vibrations, causing the needle body to collide with the outer tube, resulting in unsatisfactory tissue cutting problems. The satisfactory returnability of the needle body enables it to achieve a quick return function during operation. The returnability of the needle body must be solved by increasing the strength and elasticity.
Of course, the design of the biopsy needle structure needs to be based more on actual needs and ultimately meet the needs through continuous testing and improvement.
