The Differences Between Laser and Etching Marking of Puncture Needles.

When designing puncture needle tubes, it is essential to perform distance identification marking on the surface of the puncture needle tube in order to meet the target distance. The industry standard for metal identification markings is as follows: The laser marking and etching marking. We will now discuss the advantages and disadvantages of these two processes.
The laser marking process produces a black sintering reaction on the metal surface through a beam in an instantaneous high-temperature environment, creating a black imprint mark.
The advantages are clear: This black mark has clear edges, accurate dimensions and the marking area can be controlled. No special moulds are required. The laser CNC system allows the user to input data and design the size according to their needs.
The material composition of the selected metal needle tubes is mostly stainless steel, which contains a weak carbon component. The mark is affected by high temperatures when it is made. If the surface is not properly placed for a long time, it will oxidise. This will cause the surface to yellow. Furthermore, the puncture needle tube is relatively thin, so a process hardening layer will form on the surface when the metal needle tube is drawn. Laser high temperature hardening strengthens the metal, but it also damages the material and affects the rigidity and toughness of slender, thin-walled and needle tubes.
The etching marking process forms a black mark after electro-etching in water.
The advantages are clear: It is highly unlikely to fall off under physical interference and will not affect the strength of the outer surface of the tube. Furthermore, the colour is saturated and biocompatible.
The disadvantages is obvious: The edge of the mark is not clear.
Ultimately, the choice of laser and etching identification should be based on the actual application and needs of the product.
